Online Homes- Reputable Agents or Not?

Im interested in a property in BedStuy that was shown to me by the realtor at this place. 1024 Broadway (off willoughby Ave). Can anyone shed some light on whether they are legitimate or not? We all know the market is really hot in this nabe, but why do I get the feeling that a small group of realtor/builders have it locked down?

Thanks for the information- we found a house that we liked and just signed a contract, hopefully everything goes well this time. A few months back we dealt with another group of investors/flippers who kept us waiting around for 4 months only to find out that the supposed “builder” sold the property to someone else. As you said, it’s getting very SHADY out there- proceed with caution!

Don’t know this outfit specifically, but we have been in a similar situation.  We have been searching in Bed-Stuy for 5 months and the main theme in Realtors has been a group of investors/flippers who buy up the properties and then convert into very questionable cond-like finishes.  We experienced a few outfits with banners slung up on the sides of the buildings or internet advertisements that are not necessarily showing the same property as advertised.  You meet with the fast talking front man and then progress to their financers who require you to visit them before they even give you a price.  VERY shady!  It was extremely frustrating to say the least.  As you indicated, properties are going fast and prices are increasing by the minute.  Good advice we were given was to try and find a Realtor local to the area that knows the neighborhood and has the trust of the owners who are looking to sell.  If you feel something isn’t quite right, it probably isn’t!  Stick with it as it will be worth it in the end.  We got lucky and found one through our Realtor who sold our previous home and were given the opportunity to see it before it was listed.   Good luck with your search!
