Wood Frame Facade Restoration/Renovation

Hi- I’ve got a 3-story wood frame house in Brooklyn (not landmark district) with old asphalt shingle/siding. I’ve done some searches in the Forum here, but I wanted to ask I have the 1940’s tax photo and I’d like recommendations for anyone/company to do one or multiple of the following: 1) Restore siding to possible original wooden clapboard or replace with wood or hardiboard clapboard 2) Replace aluminum front door awning with something wooden with side brackets (Perhaps with a master carpenter? See attached Door Awning files for some pictures.) 3) Install a missing cornice ( I have the old tax photo – and would like to see if a fairly good match can be made with fiberglass) 5) Restore wooden trim/moldings around window frames (current frames are old aluminum; see attached Window Frame files for some pictures) 6) Rebuild/replace stoop with something closer to original or perhaps brick sides with slate steps 7) Replace puny iron fence with a salvaged one that gets us closer to the original (bigger, more ornate) Please comment with any referrals, suggestions to any of the above. @williamsburgguys @eagleman22 Hi there, I wanted to see how did this project turn out? We are in a 2 family in greenpoint/williamsburg. I’m also looking to re-do my vinyl siding in the front and back of our house and add some insulation. If you guys can offer any insight or tips that would be much appreciated. Thanks, Jason

Premier Builders redid ours with Hardie Plank, we built the porch canopies and installed old original doors ourselves. Cate ran a story about our house a few weeks ago on here so you could see the before and after pics. They did both front and back, built the cornices from scratch, etc. Search the blog (above right) for a story titled “How to Restore a Wood Frame Exterior” We are on Orient Ave if you wanted to come see their work in person. The folks next door to us are currently redoing theirs in real wood siding and bought a stamped aluminum cornice from somewhere in the midwest and had their carpenters install it in about a day. You could get an idea of their look and process as well. Good luck and post pics of the final outcome!
