Tiles falling from roof turret
Bed-stuy Brownstone with lovely roof turret, not in a Landmark District. The tiles have started to fall off the turret, one by one. Any suggestions or recommendations for companies that would replace the tiles? Of the few I’ve contacted by email, no one responds. Thanks!

I didn’t have such a situation, but I can recommend you the place where you can find good contractors for this work. On HireRush website there is a list of professionals (companies and individuals) who provide different types of services at affordable prices: https://www.hirerush.com/anywhere/service/roofing Hope it will be useful for you.

Hi Condo4NY. The “tiles” are probably slate shingles. If there are no extra “attic shingles” (spares left over when the job was originally done), then you can look online for slate shingle companies in Vermont who may have a close match. You can ask to send them a sample to match for color. As for putting them up, you will probably end up having to hire a slate roofer. Given that your roof is a turret, the job is difficult. Slate turrets are difficult because of the way the slates must be cut for the job to look right. Be sure to get references and see pictures of jobs the contractors have done on turrets before you hire one. See if you can hire a slater who has done work at universities or other places that have slate roofs and turrets. Lastly, if you didn’t realize it, this job is gonna cost you a pretty penny. Good luck!
