The NYC Zoning Resolution is the main guideline for development in the City. First thing you will want to do is check out the City’s mapping program ZOLA to see what zoning district, or other conditions, your project may be guided by: http://gis.nyc.gov/doitt/nycitymap/template?applicationName=ZOLA Just type in your project’s address at the top right search bar, or zoom and scan by neighborhood as you would any type of google map.
