Paint removal from the facade of a 2 family landmark brick building

I have a landmark violation because the previous owner of my 2 family had the brilliant idea of painting the facade. I now need to remove the paint and show landmarks that we have restored to the original brick. My question to contractors and anyone with experience about this project is what method and products would be best to use to get the paint removed and restore the original conditions?

If it’s an old violation and you’re a new owner, it should have showed up in title search. If it’s a new violation, search for old photos, including tax photos, that might document a painted facade as pre-existing prior to your neighborhood’s landmarking.
