Malak Brownstone Restoration?

I wanted to take the time to write this recommendation for Malak Brownstone Restoration. I’m on the tail end of gut renovating a brownstone and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that throughout the whole process Abdul and his team were the best choice we made.

Abdul is a true professional and master of his craft. He delivered each milestone on time exactly as he had planned in the contract, and his entire crew handled themselves with the utmost professionalism. He was quick, clean, and efficient and took the time to hand craft and restore all of the original ornamentation of the facade.

Since Abdul has finished and removed his scaffolding, I’ve had numerous neighbors approach me and complement me on the wonderful job the brownstone crew completed.

I fully recommend Abdul for any facade work you need to undertake. With such a delicate and intricate specialty you’ll be glad that you gave him a call!

Try this guy: Donald Morgan, 646-797-1053\. Small, family outfit. No website. Doesn’t advertize. In other words, he’s completely off the radar. But he has done 3 houses on my block in the last 3 years, including ours. We were very happy with his work and his price. Let me know if you want to contact me for a more detailed referral.

 Malek and Malak is 2 different guy.”e” is the uncle of “a”. has good reputation and “a” having the name similar pronounciation so people will get confuse who is who?If you already decided to use them good luck or Honesty is the best policy.

heard of Malek who’s a very reputable contractor (but pricey). Not sure if MalAk is the same. Make sure they are licensed, insured etc. If you are doing a facade renovation, highly recommend that you go look at previous work that has been done 8-10 years ago to see the condition now. I have seen too many beautiful brownstones start cracking and spalling after a couple of years. Find a contractor that has done a lot of Landmarks brownstone restoration work.

We used Malek (note the “e” – is this a different contractor?) for repointing many years ago. He did good work, but we had to keep tabs on his crew who – if the boss wasn’t there – often made shortcuts. However, that said, when mistakes were pointed out, Malek corrected them without charge. Make sure to have a careful, written contract, spelling out in detail what you expect. The same Malek has done brownstone refacing in many places in the neighborhood in the subsequent years, and the work appears to be good.
