Mice between the walls... what should we do?

Approximately 2 weeks ago I heard mice scurrying between my floors. So I went out and bought some traps. I’ve yet to catch them. There are no signs of them entering our unit. We have 2 indoors cats. Our tenants on the 3rd floor also have 2 cats. And they have not seen any signs of them entering their unit. I have not tried using poison with the fear of the mouse getting desperate and actually entering the apartment looking for water and poisoning our cats. The sound is pretty gross and its hard for us to sleep. What does the community recommend?

Call an exterminator, but I would do nothing. We live in Brownstone with an owners triplex and a garden rental. We have two house cats and they seems to keep the mice away. We sometimes hear them or see evidence in the basement, but not too much. Its really about your tolerance for the scratching.

I cant be 100% sure because I havent seen anything but by the sound, it appears to be something small.

Call Empire Pest Control and see what they suggest. Are you sure they’re mice and not something bigger?
