DoB Inspections

My plumber had a DoB inspection scheduled for July 29th at 8am. At 7:30 am, I was there, the plumber was there, and my interior guy was there, but the inspector never showed up. I was there with my interior guy until late in the day. I checked the DoB website and indeed it has an inspection noted for that time and date, and it also says, “No inspection–Permit Open,” which, as far as I know, is also true. I know this is really my plumber’s problem, but I was wondering if this is typical and what happens next. He re-schedules? He just keeps re-scheduling until someone shows up? Master Plvmber? Eman?

No, I don’t remember him saying anything like that, masterplvmber. He was expecting someone. He was out there the day before checking everything one more time, making sure everything was right. And he was there at least 45 minutes before the appointment time. But when the DoB guy didn’t show, he said, That’s it! We’ve got it by default! I just wasn’t sure whether I could trust that. New at this.

Eman, that’s what my plumber said, but I’ve learned the hard way to check myself. And I saw the “open” permit, so I thought he was wrong. This was for the FR place I asked you about. I found a good guy. By first name only, he said he thinks he knows you. He said all NYC plumbers know each other. An elite clique!

you passed by default…as soon as your plumber files an notice of inspection, the site will update accordingly
