DOB disapproval
We’re following a construction job in the neighborhood, and noticed on the DOB website that the permit application (for an A1 conversion) was “disapproved.” Is there a way to see the plan examiner’s reasons/notes on the DOB site, or do those only go to the applicant?

Most Alt 1 plans get disapproved on the first filing it seems. It seems the filing architect or engineer wants to get the ball rolling, so an initial filing will make its way into the BIS system. A list of objections is basically a set of directions for follow-up filings. They could be anything from a request for the line-weight of the drawings to be bolder to Landmarks approval and so forth.

Objections are not public and mainly involve requests for additional information or clarification. It is generally not a red flag that something is seriously amiss with a project.

When we got disapproved, we got a form called “Notice of Objections” issued by the DOB that the epeditor gave me in a pdf format. That form listed all of my objections.
