Clearing a stop work order
A property owned by my mom and step dad received two stop work orders by the DOB when a neighbor complained about renovation he was doing. I believe one relates to plumbing and the other to electrical work, but both for work done in the bathroom. My mom would like to clear the stop work orders. Does anyone have any ideas about how this process works? My guess is that she needs to hire a licensed plumber and electrician, get them to open work permits on the property, then renovate, and then close out the permit, but I really have no idea. Thoughts? Thanks!!!!!!!!!!

The best point person to deal with this is an expediter like Scott Schnall. It is paperwork problem first, a plumbing/electrical problem second. You need a paperwork pro to help dig you out of this mess.

probably need to hire an architect to file plans, contract with lisenced tradesmen to file as well…not a cheap date, and probably pay a minimum fine of $1500 for work without a permit

You are going to need to pull permits and depending upon what is being done you may need drawings as well.
