need stain expert to stain porch "ceiling"

5 yrs ago had “ceiling” of porch stained white but accidentally didn’t use opaque stain (Cabot exterior stain used). Need to re-stain it and want to use someone who knows what would be the best product to go over existing stain. Won’t re-stain if it’s necessary to sand because that’s a huge job – the “ceiling” of porch is actually underside of porch on next floor and there are beams running the full width (25′). Height is approx. 14′ so probably best to use one of those small “scaffolds”, about 4′ x 8′, I think, on casters. Hope some of you can recommend someone. Will try to attach image showing portion of deck “ceiling” – it’s the part that looks so dirty.

power wash, then if you still want to stain go ahead. i don’t think it would be great to stain over that much dirt. Try to find someone who knows the correct pressure for the job, otherwise you won’t have a choice if it is too strong.

My thoughts are that you would want to go with Cabot again, as long as it’s oil over oil, etc. If you want more or less opaque, that’s fine as long as it’s the same base. If anything, maybe it needs to be power washed. Contact me at infoATreclaimedhomeDOTcom. The guy who does our carpentry is probably more than capable of doing this.
