Neighbor's Gut Renovation Affecting our House

The house next door to us is going to be sold to an investment firm (based out of the country) and they plan to do a gut renovation(closing will be in about a month so the renovation should start after that). I am very concerned about this because we bought our house about 7 years ago from someone who buys houses, guts them and sells them. The house has been fine except for some leaking issues coming from a few different places having to do with roofs and gutters. Over the years we’ve managed to stop some of the leaking but we’re still having problems. We found a roofer that is going to do a lot of work on our roof and hopefully stop the last of our leaking. Some of our leaking was caused from the house next door because it is one story higher than our house and the side of their house that faces our house was crumbling (stucco or cement over brick). The previous owners did fix it a few years ago and that leaking stopped, but they basically put a thick piece of Styrofoam over the brick and crumbling stucco and stuccoed over it. I’m worried that if the new owners rip that off, they will mess up our new roof and cause leaking again. I’m also worried that if they cut corners and don’t do the roof and gutters right on the house next door, it will cause new leaks in our house. I don’t want to wait to do our roof because I’m afraid of going through another snowy winter without having it fixed. Does anyone have any advice on how we can protect ourselves if these problems that I’m anticipating actually arise? Thank you!
