Going price for Commercial Design/Build?/Need someone good and affordable!

A friend is planning to put together a music school in Brooklyn – either Gowanus or Prospect Heights. The Space will be 2000-3500 Sq. feet. The space will be delivered as a white box – and the friend needs some recommendations for a smart, ethical design/build firm that can design the space and build it out. Wood floors, some soundproofing between classrooms, some offices and common spaces. SO – what is an approximate price per sq ft. for this kind of project. And – can someone recommend a great and reasonable firm? Thanks!
