Contractor suggestion for an FHA 203K financed renovation in Bed Stuy?

Hi, We’re considering putting an offer on a home in Bed Stuy which needs a fair amount of work, and are looking for some good suggestions.  It’s not going to be a very high-end renovation, but we’re both architects and we’d like it to be nice.  We are meeting with a few contractors we like, but I’m wondering if anyone here has any suggestions.  Working within the constraints of an FHA203k financed renovation seems to hold some unique challenges, so we’re looking for someone who is interested/willing/has experience working within those constraints. I highly recommend Dariusz Chrzastek (Darek): dynamicconst@hotmail.com. He worked for John Kemp for many years and is now licensed and on his own. He worked on a significant renovation of a friend’s house in Cobble Hill, along with a team of course, and it’s simply incredible. He also did some work for me and my husband on our brownstone and did a great job. He really knows his stuff, though I’m not familiar with this FHA business, so I can’t comment on that.

Are you aware that the total loan amount is limited to $729k? That’s for the purchase price and the renovation.
