need a Dehumidifer suggestion for cellar
I have to get a dehumidifier for the cellar of my brownstone. There was some water that leaked down there this past spring and it is a bit dank. Could anyone suggest a brand that they have had success with? and where to get the dehumidifier?

Do you have a floor drain? If not, I would recommend a model with a pump. The one I just bought is the CU check rated Kenmore 70 Pint model from Sears. Even comes with a remote sensor that tells you what the temperature and humidity is in the cellar. Note that I could not find an independent appliance repair shop in Brooklyn or Queens that repairs dehumdifiers, so buying from Sears has an added advantage in case you need a warranty )or post-warranty) repair.

Most of them will have a hose connection so you don’t have to drain the bucket. You just have to place the unit high enough so gravity works. I think I bought mine at Target or Lowes. Digital controls let you set hunidity levels and on/off run time

I bought a 50 pint frigidair from amazon. Been very happy with it and it does make a difference.
Some dehumidifiers are set to run the fan all the time. I like this model because the fan will shut off when the proper humidity level is reached.
I also bought a small pump that pumps the discharge into a drain, It’s a bit easier then having to drain it by hand.
