refinish wood mantel

I purchased an approx 100 year  old wood mantel that was stripped of white paint by the last owner but the refinishing job was done poorly. It also needs some small repairs.

We’ve had a very good experience with Clemens Sippel.  He’s in Brooklyn: 646-552-4477.  We had him work our our wood trim in our apartment, but I know that he does refinishing.  He’s done a very through job in our place (which now looks fantastic) and he understood that making something look nice in an old aparment doesn’t necessarily mean making it look brand-spaking new–you still need character and patina.  We are thrilled with the results.  He’s also very nice to work with.

We can easily do this but be aware that to do it right, and I mean to get all of the detail and sand it properly and make the repairs, this may cost a little more than you expect.
