Recommendations for a master carpenter

Any recommendations for a master carpenter to repair a stairwell that has loose steps and is pitching?

I used Alex Rodriguez (917 502-2854) to repair and basically rebuild some stairs for me last fall.  I was very happy with his work and ended up using him for a bunch od other jobs related to my renovations.  He’s a lovely fellow and I am happy to recommend him.

You wouldnt need a “master carpenter”, just one who’s done a lot of stair work. Stairs is a kind of separate art, mixed with math, and mixed with some sense of how the stairs should be constructed relative to the type of use and amount of traffic. There are a lot of variables and appropriate recommendations and subsequent decisions arrive better from experience rather than a good book on the subject. Well, the one book you need to factor in is the code book. Given the use etc., I mentioned, the Good Book (code book) is not to be ignored – relationship of rise to run, max changes in rises, how many steps before a landing, and a bunch of other fun details are found in the Good Book.
