Need a carpenter to fix an existing wall-to-wall built-in closet

One of our bedrooms has a wall-to-wall built-in closet that is probably as old as the house and that is in need of repairs. It is missing a door, the existing doors do not close properly, it is missing some of the moldings, some of the drawers do not close properly, etc. The repairs must be as less invasive as possible in order to maintain the antique-like “look and feel” of the closet. It’s not a big project, but we have a big house, and if we are satisfied with the work done on the closet, we may very well have bigger projects in the future. Any finish carpenter or cabinet maker should be able to handle this. It may not be as small a job as you think. Putting new rails in for the drawers and getting the doors to shut should not be too difficult but creating a new door to match is slightly more involved. Your carpenter will probably not be able to find the exact moldings to match but can get something reasonably close at Dyke’s. The whole thing could take two or three days, maybe a week, depending. We just did something similar for two closets and it took three weeks! But the scope of work was different and included replastering the backs of the closets, among other things.
