Slightly OT: Warning neighbors about construction

Looking for some advice. I’m about to close on a house and start a fairly substantial renovation. What’s a nice way to introduce myself to neighbors and inform them about the impending inconvenience. Should I just knock? Send a letter and then knock? Bake them something? A gift card? Anybody have an experiences to share?

Speaking from the perspective of the neighbor, I agree with Curated. We’re in a similar situation with the house next door, which is about to undergo some work. It’s nice to meet the owner and have a contact number, just in case.
