Scrubbing 50 Year Old Adhesive Off Of Tilework

Can anyone direct me to a store bought product or home brewed concoction that can scrub 50 year old adhesive and grime off of our vestibule’s tile work? The black gunk is old adhesive that cemented down linoleum tiles…… Yes I know there might be asbestos adhesive present… But we are talking about only a few square feet here. I’m Not too worried about it if I take care in scrubbing it down.
