Renovation - before and after

Time to share with the b’stoner community who’ve been such a great help over the last months – here’s how the 2nd floor apartment turned out after my partial-gut-on-a-budget.  Doing this unit was fun; with very little original detail to agonise over, it was easy to choose a simple mini-loft layout to maximize light, fit with plumbing runs and use as much of the existing walls & floors as possible. I got a little carried away by how the space felt, and upgraded this one with more bathroom luxury than a “rental” deserves, but in the end still stayed well within 150/sf for the whole project.  Clearly this is some form of illness, because now I have an urge to do it all over again…

The bed alcove with the glass doors is a great solution, allowing for privacy and light! And I’ve never seen a shower and tub handled that way, where they’re both in the same area. Not that it really matters, but when you use the shower, does water get in the tub? Congratulations and thanks for sharing!
