Removing paint from bluestone pavers in front garden?

Hi everybody — I’m hoping someone might have advice. Last year my husband and I purchased a house in So. Slope/Greenwood. One of the many projects we need to undertake is work on the exterior and front garden. While there is a nice bluestone walkway/patio in place, at some point the previous owners painted the stone–which is really a shame. So, I’m wondering: has anyone has any experience removing paint in this situation? We are having the brownstone stoop and window trim repaired and resurfaced (the rest of the facade is brick) by a mason, but we are on a budget so would prefer not to keep adding on tasks to that job if this portion of it might be something we could do ourselves. Any ideas would be most appreciated!

Oh, thank you both! Just for reference, in case it’s helpful, this is what it looks like now:

Go to the closest art store and purchase non-toxic, non-flammable brush cleaner.  It’s an odorless, clear liquid sold in 16oz. plastic bottles (many brands.)  It will dissolve all dried paint and glue in about 24 hours. Just pour it on, and take a brush to it the next day when the paint is soft.

Have you thought about flipping over the pavers? They probably didn’t paint the other side.
