Refinishing wood floors price quote question

On average, how much per square foot to refinish the original wood floors for a brownstone in crown heights?  I’m asking per square foot because we got a price quote already that way. Thanks

We just paid $1.50 a square foot to refinish our floors (also in CH).  If you’re in the process of collecting quotes, I can very highly recommend the guy who did our floors – he did a beautiful job and is a really nice guy to boot.  His name’s Marcus, and he can be reached at 347 579 5980\.

In seem to remember that water-based poly cost more than oil based….perhaps because they thought using water-based poly, it would need more coats.

In my experience, a quality job is generally about $1.50 per sq. ft.  $3.00 would be way more then the going rate.

All over New York, it ranges from $1 to $3 a square foot. The bigger the space, the less expensive per square foot. Other variables might include a sealer, stain, how many coats, quality of materials, etc.
