Please help me identify this type of fence

I am looking to identify the type of fencing in the picture below. It’s about 4 feet high with a clover / rose / cross pattern along the top. The clover is about 5 inches in diameter.

Not shown here, but in the original fencing, is a rounded cap with a profile something like this:

I would appreciate any information about what this is called, and whether anyone still makes it.

I doubt this has a name. But most ironworkers will reproduce original patterns. Send them your photo or, better yet, have them do a site visit.

sorry, I looked at that as though it were two different questions and a wood element. I know nothing about iron work terminology and I doubt that iron worker’s know our terminology and since chair rails and astragals are wood, I doubt they call them that in iron work. And Adriatic deals in wood. I would delete my reply but can not. I was once in a shop someplace that had racks and bins of iron architectural elements. can’t recall where though. it was in the tri state area. I remember thinking this is where they get the stuff. If the op were to google “architectural iron elements” or architectural with the word iron and stock or lengths or fence, they will find some suppliers. Steve

Steve, Do the descriptive terms translate between wood and iron/steel products? Would an ironworks be familiar with the carpenter’s terminology?

I would not be sure of the name; it could be a chair rail. if both sides of the profile where equal (which I doubt they are from the drawing) I might think it were an astragal. Adriatic Wood Products on Pitkin Ave still makes this product. Steve
