missing door hinge finials

So we are renovating our townhouse which has most of its original doors and hinges which are quite decorative. We hired a paint stripper who lost some of the finials. We have the hinge pin but the bottom finial which is more decorative than functional is lost. Where can i find a place to get replacements? I know its probably next to impossible but I am open to other possible suggestions. I’ve tried Edddie’s in bed stuy and he said I had a better chance of winning the lotto in Scandinavia than finding a matching finial.

thanks for the resources, I looked on the website for house of antique and wondered if they just sold the pin and finial. I was just wondering if I could find a place that just had the finial since I have the original ones and much rather be able to use that then something new.

Olde good Things has a large hardware department in Scranton, PA. I would email the person in charge and attach a photo. Also, ebay has been a good source, as well as historichouseparts.com . You may have to wait a bit until you find what you are looking for, but keep on revisiting these sites periodically. I found a perfect match after 6 years, good luck.

That’s funny about the lottery. Yeah, I was going to suggest the same resource as Dave. House of Antique hw sells repro hinges with finials that are pretty close to the ones we have in our house. I ordered some a while back and they just shipped three months later though!!!
