Frameless glass screen shower
I am looking for a for glass screen for my shower. The shower spans the width of the room and I don’t want a door just a partition. Does anyone know where I might be able to find this locally? I searched online and found places outside nyc which means I can’t really see the product. I wouldn’t need a very large piece probably between 3-4 feet wide and maybe 6-7 feet tall.

I install glass as part of my bathroom reno’s. This one is not a door, as you suggest, but it sits on the waterproof membrane with out fasteners. No screws or holes are drilled through the tile or membrane. I can explain further how to install glass without penetrating waterproof membranes. It is unusual. The glass is replaceable even as you see, locked in to a tiled channel in the floor, not metal. It can be important, depending on how your shower was built originally. Even on traditional lead or vinyl pan systems (not my method) I often see water damage related to screw holes on top of curbs, through metal channels over tile.

Hi there, The blogs are probably all correct: it is very soft, dents easily but is absolutely beautiful. We went with character grade walnut which isn’t that smooth even walnut shown in most places. It has more knots, dings and pin holes from the start, making it rather unnoticeable when new dings and dents happen. In fact, it seems to add to the character of the floor rather than detract from it. But, if you are looking for a super-sleek seamless looking floor, you should go with another option. Be very careful never to leave acidic fruits on the counter, even inside a market box or other container where it might leach. We’ve had no trouble otherwise (wine, coffee, you name it) but one pesky apple and another tomato have etched the counter. The pattern means the etching is not apparent to most people but we see it. Good luck!

Thanks operadiva! I checked out your blog and your Reno looks amazing. Great job love how it came out. We actually got the same counter top stone you used. We were also toying around with the idea of using walnut but the internet and others have scared us away. What’s been your experience with it so far?

We have done 4 bathrooms over the years with ABC Shower Door and have been very happy with their work. You can see pictures of two recent bathrooms with glass work by this Brooklyn-based company on our blog www.wandernesting.com. I’m not sure if they have a showroom but the quality of their product is excellent. http://www.abcshowerdoor.com/ Good luck!
