Con Ed

Did anyone else get a totally out of whack estimated bill from Con Ed this month? The bill said no one could read the meter due to the storm so my estimated bill was $414\. Last month my bill was $140 and the graph on the back show’s that my usage is consistent with last year’s usage except for this month when the usage was sky-high. We did not lose power in the storm nor did we use extra power, no A/C, etc.

I’m sure there’ll be a lot of storm-related estimated bills this month, just like in July during the lockout. Our meter reader normally shows up like clockwork, but was a no-show this month. I know he lives in Coney Island and worried to hear his story at the next meter reading. In the meantime, you can read your meter yourself and call in the reading.
