Asbestos Removal needed

I currently have about 20′ feet of asbestos covering my pipes in the basement.  I was quoted $1800 to remove it by Liam Hogan at Leinster.  Can anyone recommend someone else that is reliable but perhaps a bit cheaper?

Sorry I can’t offer any alternatives, but wanted to add that I used Leinster very recently for a slightly larger job and they were just wonderful: responsive, prompt, cleaned the basement beautifully, and stuck to the estimate though the job ended up a bit larger. Very professional and pleasant all around. It wasn’t cheap, but I really felt good about the whole thing.

i also used abatek  roughly 2-3 years ago and they were great.  from what i recall, they were roughly in the middle of all price quotes that i received

That seems to be the going rate. I have a similar situation, got quotes from abatek and J and J asbestos (google them both, they are local) and mine were 1600 and 1700.  There may be a bit of room if you pay in cash.
