Used WIndow A/Cs

I have 2 window a/cs which I don’t use, one a Frigidaire 10000btu 3-year old, and the other 8000btu low-profile ancient. Craigslist for $50 didn’t work. I hate to leave them for pickup (can I even do that?), especially the larger, well-working one. Anyone want one/them or can suggest alternative disposal?

Hi jmebrkr, Should’ve been clearer. The small one works, but it’s old and its themostat is iffy, so I was really looking to get rid of it. Still, if you want it, no problem, it’s low so does not block much light. Mail me at the email address shown on my profile.

To follow up on nancyk’s one word comment. [Freecycle](https://groups.freecycle.org/group/BrooklynNY/posts/all) is a network that allows people to offer items for free. People looking for things respond and you arrange for them to come to pick them up. No charge to giver or receiver. If you decide to dispose of the air conditioner, Sanitation will pick it up if it has a sticker on it that indicates that the freon had been appropriately remove. To have that done call 311 and put it out on the scheduled time they give you.

Hello! I am in need of an AC unit! moving into a studio apartment in a brownstone in Crown Heights tomorrow and have nothing. My apartment is about 500 sq. ft. with 12 ft. ceilings. I think the 8000btu would work fine for me? Can you tell me how many inches long each one is though to make sure I can fit it in my new window. Thank You! Best, Jaime

I needed to get rid of my AC and called 311 to schedule a pickup. In the meantime I moved it outside to the front of the house just to get it out of the way and a few days it disappeared, so I just cancelled the 311 request.
