Suggestions for refinancing, please

I want to refinance my house in order to get lower rates while they last. My current mortgage is with Chase, but I’d like to shop around and compare a few offers. I’d greatly appreciate any advice and information on banks/people who are easy to work with, trustworthy, etc. and those that you’d recommend staying away from. Thanks!

If your home is owned by fannie mae or freddie mac they will allow for over 100% LTV (Loan to value). It is a program most people dont know about and love when this happens because i surprise people all the time and they usually save a ton of money

Your loan needs to be the same as the value of the home. If you are upside down then you have to wait until the market goes back up. The bank doesn’t want to give you more money than what the house is worth. It has nothing to do with what you bought the house for, it’s what it’s current value is. I’m in the same boat (kind of), though my loan is a 30 yr. I’d love to refi but the value went down, so I can’t do it.

we locked in with chase for 4.25 30 year fixed. we were able to redraw up to $250k as long as our LTV didn’t go over 60%
