Stucco siding to wood siding...

I would like to restore my home and take down the stucco siding and put on wood, just on the front of the structure (side is vinyl and I’m on a budget). Which companies can help with this? Do I need permits? Approx cost?

Hardiboard (fiber cement boards) allows the building to breath, it goes on just like clapboard, but it is fire retardant so your fire insurance will not go up. Consider hardiplank instead of wood. Smooth side out. Looks like wood planks but holds paint better and is more durable and less flammable.
