Sad toilet

Hello all. I have a toilet that only fully flushes a fraction of the time. I’ve snaked the toilet and come up empty handed (snaked?), I’ve had a plumber remove the toilet to check for pipe blockages and there were none, I’ve cleaned out the tiny water holes in the bowl to make sure there are no blockages, and I’ve adjusted the tank so that more water is used for flushing. Our soil stack is brand new, so I know there are no blockages there. I find myself using the ol’ bucket-of-water-down-the-toilet-bowl trick to flush and it never fails. But obviously, I’d like to not have to do this. Any suggestions on what to try next? Is simply installing a new toilet a logical next step? If so, any suggestions on ones to check out? how long has this toilet done this? we have one in the basement of our house that has probably done it since day one in 1928 because they did not vent the waste line near the toilet. when we had our upstairs bathroom redone recently, I spoke to the contractor about the downstairs toilet and also asked him about how far we can move the upstairs one during the reno, and it seemed that there was a lot of concern about how far a toilet can be from the vent. Fortunately the contractor doing our upstairs (Chris Lombardi) had that down to a T and was able to move the toilet enough to please us yet close enough so it works fine. Something tells me something with the vent is suspect here, not the toilet.

Sounds like you have done everything but replace the toilet. Toilets are not expensive so try replacing it.
