Improving French through the Art
Hello, My name is Aurélien, a 32 year-old French visual artist living in New York. I propose an original method to learn and perfect French: Art. I transmit my skills in the two realms in order to provide a stimulating way to practice the language. Through museum visits or through Art books, I put discovering Art at the service of the language. More than a theoretical instruction of Art, I let my student express thoughts and feelings, the whole in French. I correct mistakes and explain Art works but the goal is to let the student speak as much as possible. Ideally lessons take place in museums but otherwise they can take place at home, in a library or a café if it is more convenient for you. Intended for all ages, this program is for people who already have some experience with French. For the teenagers, these private lessons are a personal initiative: an after school program that provides the opportunity for children to practice through Art what they have been taught at school. Art encourages the student to speak freely, and so he or she works to improve oral expression and confidence. I am there to correct mistakes and provide guidance towards improved grammar. I adapt the content and the duration of these lessons depending on the age, level and personality of the student. Lessons emphasize conversational skills while allowing for grammatical correction. I write down important points of the lesson, and give my notes at the end of the lesson. The duration of lessons varies. The base price is 50 dollars per hour but packages can be arranged: for example, an afternoon at the museum will be proposed as a lower hourly rate. Lessons are initially proposed for individuals but if you prefer to group children it is possible. However, to ensure the efficacy of the program, the number must be limited. Feel free to contact me for any question about my method. Best, Aurélien phone: 347-661-6832 / e-mail: teacheraurelien@gmail.com
