Entry Doors Require Refinish

I am in Carol Gardens and our double entry doors require sanding and polyurethane. I am having difficulty finding someone who does this work. I would appreciate anyone knowing of the right workmen for this job to make a recommendation. Thank You

One thing I’d make sure about is that an appropriate exterior finish – like a good quality marine varnish with UV blockers -will be used. A spray lacquer, or similar finish not designed for exterior use, will look great initially, but have no durability nor longevity. Also, the color red will fade most quickly, so if the doors are stained mahogany or cherry , be sure to use pigments rather than dyes.( and , again, with good UV protection)

vincent battiloro seems to be the go to guy. i’ve seem them do a few jobs: 788 president and 309, 249, 242 garfield. i’ve never personally seen him on a job, but his workers seems moderately skilled. it’s not a very tough job just takes time and patience.

We are having this done next week by a guy who has done several near us. They all look great and the neighbors highly recommended him, though all agreed that he’s pricey. I had a few others out for estimates and his is near the top, but I feel like the quality I’m expecting will be worth it. Also, he is able to get us on the calendar sooner than some others. I can report back in a couple of weeks on the results. Our doors are in pretty bad shape, and need a lot of pieces replaced so I really wanted someone who seemed to know this kind of work.
