Deck

We will renovate a backyard and plan on building a metal deck so that there is access from the parlor floor. Seems simple enough but wary of code requirements. -Are the requirements for a metal deck different from a wooden one? If so, how? -Recommendations for a good deck person? Thank you

Wooden decks do not conform to “code” in any regard. A mettle deck should be filed for and depending on how deep you are building it and how close to the rear of the property etc depends on the use of the space below, under the deck (bedroom? needs fresh air etc) and how close to the property lines you are building it. At least check with an architect even if you do not file it. (But that will depend on your neighbors)
