Chain of Title

Hey there, does anyone know how I go about checking the chain of title for some brownstones? There may be a couple left to my mom from way back.

ACRIS will not help as this extends back to mid forties. Do you know who does abstracts? Also if there is a break I need to find out the title company, lein holder, and who has been paying the property taxes.

You can obtain general ownership information by typing your mother’s name into NYC ACRIS, except this won’t really show things she’s inherited. Do you have addresses?
