Cedar fencing

We have sturdy metal (iron or steel) fencing on two sides of our backyard and we would like to add horizontal wooden (cedar, if affordable) slats for privacy. Since I know the existing fence can handle the weight, I am hoping to save money by attaching slats or panels to it rather than dig new posts. But I have no idea how they might be attached. Does anyone have ideas, and/or would anyone like to bid on the job? The two lengths of fencing are approximately 25′ and 30′ long, attached at a 110-degree angle. Thank you.

Actually I meant if the u-bracket went around the ‘steel *horizontal*, even 2 of them would easily support the weight of the panel and prevent it sliding up/down.

Thanks! Much appreciated. The 110-degree angle refers to the two sides, one down the side of the house, the other in the back of the property ? instead of the two sides coming together at a right angle, the back property line goes off at an angle (in Prospect Heights, where this is common). Probably doesn’t much matter.

I’d think any handyman could build panels of the size needed for each section (horizontal slats attached to one vertical say 1×4 or 2×4 at each end. If the span is more than 4-5ft you might need another vertical. A simple u-bracket would go around the steel vertical & screw into the 2×4\. No steel drilling reqd. I’m not sure what your 110-deg. refers to, all looks square to me.
