Brownstone stoop and under stoop repair

Looking to meet with several masons/brownstone specialists to have my stoop and under stoop area repaired. Based on my research on Brownstoner I’ve narrowed the list down to the following companies/individuals: Excellent Contracting (Meraz) Taz aahmodiyahi@gmail.com Glenford 347.641.5283 HiTech Construction- 718-693-3537 CTG Construction-Milad 718-669-8305 Anyone have any bad experiences with any of these? I recommend Excellent Contracting without hesitation. Meraz did a complete repair of the stucco on the rear and side walls of our 4 story brownstone (was applied originally by the developer we purchased from). We got 5 quotes in total, all from companies that can be found in these forums. Excellent gave us the longest warrantee on the work and also carry the highest liability insurance of any of the companies we contacted. Not the cheapest and not the most expensive. Work was done exactly as it should be, in the timeframe quoted to us.

I also would not use CTG again. Millad promises the world and then does not fulfill his promises. My stoop also deteriorated and two times he had to repair after many many calls to him.

BEWARE! I would advise against using CTG Construction. Millad and his crew did my stoop for me around September of 2012 and it has already started to deteriorate. There are also three other stoops he did that same year up the street from me that are deteriorating as well.

Thanks Daveinbedstuy…I’ve seen the mortar mix skim coat on two of my neighbors under stoop areas. Is it ok to do that over brick or is it best (if possible) to leave the brick exposed?

Milad did a nice job with mine. Too bad this site can’t resize the files so I can post the before and after pics. Under the stoop he basically skim coated it with a mortar mix. I wan’t too particular on how it looked.
