Bleeding boiler and hot water heater

I have a 3 family house in Bed Stuy with baseboard heaters along the walls. One of the rooms doesn’t get enough heat. 1) is the best bet here to pay someone to bleed the boiler? 2) if so, who do you recommend to do this right, at a reasonable price? 3) if bleeding the boiler is NOT the answer, what is? Thanks for your help here.

Eman is spot on. To add to that, know that your “not enough heat problem” may or may not be caused by air in your heating system. But bleeding, as described by eman, is a good and cheap and logical place to start. As for metalwork, he seems to hang around recommending his friends and/or himself, but the lack of accuracy in his replies leads me to caution you about working with him. Good luck.

first of all. you do not bleed the boiler, you bleed the air out of the baseboard radiator out of the room that is cold. Remove the end caps on the radiators and see if there is a bleeding valve installed on that run. If so, go to your local hardware store and purchase a radiator valve key. Using the key, open the valve and release the air until you get a smooth trickle of water. If there is no bleeding valve you can contact me via email provided on my profile.
