Green Wood
Hello, In the process of renovating our kitchen we notice that the wood used on the stairs is green. Our Brownstone was built in the late 1800’s. Does anyone know what type of wood this is? Thanks!

Finally a question I can answer. Most assuredly poplar.

Poplar. Cheap, very stable and common in old stair construction.
Most likely poplar.
Assuming it’s old wood, then it’s probably poplar which often has a greenish cast to it.
