I’m looking for someone in Manhattan or Brooklyn who repairs leather furniture. Would love to have a referral to someone you’ve had experience working with. I need to repair a tear in the leather and replace a button.
Thanks!

  1. Hello Friends…

Repairing a leather furniture is a difficult task….as attaching patches to the tear part is not easy….Also i have no idea about the one who can reapir it in Manhattan or Brooklyn….For this sorry..

  2. so i got a quote from Mod restoration to fix the button, one button for $150. YIKES. Needless to say, I’m not interested in that. lamb – do you remember about how much it was to replace your buttons on the cushions?

I wish there was a place with reasonable prices!

  3. Thanks for the suggestions. I got a quote from one guy on Long Island who wants to charge me $65 for one button. Ugh. And then repair the entire back of the chair to fix the tear. So I’m not really looking to spend that kind of money to repair the tear. Just want to fix what I have, if possible. I’ll try these two suggestions and see what price they give me.
    Thanks again.

  4. DAS Upholstery on Cortelyou Rd in Flatbush. They did fabric upholstery for me, but I know they do high-end leather projects as well. Not sure if they do tear repairs but worth a call.

  5. I just dropped some large leather cushions off at MOD restoration on 3rd ave and 48th street in brooklyn to have 6 (!) buttons replaced. it’s not cheap and I still haven’t picked them back up to see the results, but judging by the gallery on their website they do some very nice work. I also asked for a quote for reconditioning the leather and rather than take more money from me they said it wasn’t necessary and gave me some at-home maintenance tips instead–I thought that was pretty refreshing.
