I am getting conflicting information from my contractor and my expediter as to what we need to get a BPP signed off. Are there any expediters out there who can tell me what I need. I am told I need 3 permits:

1- Permit Type 405 Construct New Sidewalk Builders Pavement
2- Permit Type 118 Reset, Repair, or Replace Curb
3- Permit Type 119 Pave Street

Is this correct?

  1. For a new building you generally need all 3. For an alteration mandated with this requirement sometimes a repair sidewalk will suffice and the same may apply if everything is in good condition prior to BPP work.

  2. The Dept. of Transportation issues permits for sidewalk work. Go to that web site to find the information you need. If it’s a landmarked property, I believe, you will also need a permit from the LPC.
