I am looking to replace 2 leaky old skylights (above lightshafts), of the metal frame with wired glass variety seen on lots of brownstones. I’m thinking of replacing with double pane fixed skylights. Could anyone give recommendations for the installers and an idea of how much replacing them would cost? Thanks

  1. I had a very positive experience with Mike over at roofmasters nyc – you can google them. They replaced a very large skylight in my building…….. they did a great job and were absolute professionals throughout the process.

  2. be careful on this one. not knowing the details of the condition, these may be required by code and may only be replaced in kind. The good news is that such a replacement is readily available and will not leak. They are actually quite cleverly designed although not for energy conservation purposes because they are designed to vent the shaft.
