curious to know if the estimate i received is too high or about right.
building a stand-alone garage in the backyard, and need electricity for it. assuming electrician would run it from my breaker in the house basement.

he’s given me an estimate of $2500.
it seems high, but i really don’t know all intricacies involved.

any opinions?

  1. What size panel and feed are you getting? How many outlets? How many garage door openers? Etc. Etc. Pstreet has the right answer. Simply get other estimates from licensed electricians and make sure they see the job in person. Make sure you are comparing apples to apples otherwise you have no baseline for comparison! The best price may be the bare minimum and not be code compliant. My company has done a number of garage re feeds in Ditmas Park as well as complete house re wiring. Written estimates are free. We can be reached at; wirelights@aol.com Good Luck
