We were generously just given beautiful mini-daffodils. They are mostly blooming and some are past bloom, but they can certainly be planted now, develop over the summer, and grow next spring! I planted as many as I could justify in our garden and would love to swap the rest (about 20 plants–not just a few, like the picture). This is what we can use and would swap for:
-Hostas (especially ones with BLUE or yellow in them!)
-Ferns
-Any colorful perennials (coral bells, bleeding hearts, coneflowers, black-eyed susans, alliums, irises (!!!), crocuses, amaryllises, gereniums, peonies (!!!), clematis, roses, wisteria or dahlias)
-Healthy veggie starts

We can also use a chicken coop, free standing planters, metal rods to hang planters off of fences, VOC-free sealant..

Any interest?

  1. I have some iris rihzomes I could trade. They definitely won’t bloom this year, but like the daffodils will develop over the year and you should get blooms next year. Each year I’ve had them they’ve increased in blooms and rihzomes spread quickly so you’ll have a lot to trade in the future. If you want some email me at sarah cassidy at earthlink dot net.

  2. I’d be interested – I have a bunch of shorter pieces of 1/2″ black iron pipe that might work well to hang your planters. If that’s an interesting swap for you, I’m at littsarah[at]gmail[dot]com.

  3. I’m not aware of any reason forced bulbs won’t bloom again, they just don’t bloom again at the same time. but these are spring-booming anyway so it doesn’t seem like a likely issue.

  4. sad thing is that because they were probably forced bulbs and may never bloom again. Its a gamble wether or not they bloom again. So they may not have swap value. sorry
