Hi,
Just had a roof leak. Roofer came out and said that our gutters are bad and we also need a new roof.
Roof is a flat roof 20ft by 30ft.
Can anyone give me an idea off what sort of costs I might be looking at?
Roofer is going to come back with a quote later and we will also be getting another estimate.
I was just hoping to get some perspective from any of you who might be in the know.
Thanks so much in advance.
I would call Premier Roofing or Greene roofing to get estimates. Those businesses have been around awhile. With their estimates you’ll get a good idea of what the job should cost.
We can take care roof, gutter and facade waterproofing. Please give us a call to get an estimate. Our jobs are qualityfull with reasonable price.

I just had ours done (20 x 50, too, I believe) for about $6k by Roofmaster Mike with a 12 year warranty. He and his guys were great. I’ve used him a lot in recent years to fix cracks and leaks, and I find him to be an extremely honest, down-to-earth, helpful guy. We finally were sick of all the leaks and cracks and decided it was time for a new roof (and some new coping stones around the edges). He might do gutters, but I’m not sure. For the other work you need a mason (try Nick at Transcend–he’s a contractor who specializes in masonry. He’s terrific, has good prices, and gets mentioned here a lot). Tell them a woman in Prospect Heights recommended him.

Thanks for the advice thus far. Waiting for the quote from the roofer who said we need a new roof and gutters. In the mean time had a contractor look at it and he said it is a 4ft area that has sunk and quoted $1,200 to do that area of work and said the rest off the roof and gutter are fine… hmmm… so getting a 3rd opinion tomorrow
That is sage advice – thank you Putnamdenizen.
My experience with Nick/Leakmasters was different. I had a leak. His price was more than double 2 reputable roofers I brought in and he was a total alarmist, insisting that my entire relatively new roof needed replacement which the others did not agree with. The others only priced a new roof because I asked for the price, as well as a separate repair price to address the leak.
In fact, the glass in a skylight needed caulking – handyman $50 – and that was it.
Get multiple quotes.
There are construction companies which will both. You want to be wary of a roofer who ignores or suggest you just cover up a deteriorating parapet.
Thanks, guys.
seward, that’s a mason, not a roofer.
