Suggestions for Lodging in Brooklyn

I plan to relocate to your wonderfull town in 4 years and want to experience true city living. I am making frequent trips to explore each neighborhood and am in need of help with lodging. Can anyone suggest a good motel/bed & breakfast/or daily rental furnished apt for our stay in April? I need something that can accomodate 2 adults and one child w/ or w/out a kitchen but with a private bath. We would be coming via car so parking or a pay lot nearby would be a plus. Thanks!!!!

    2. Ah, and forgot to add: parking on our street is shockingly easy–some of the easiest in Brooklyn, surprisingly. Plus, there is an inexpensive, gated and staffed 24 hour parking lot on the block as well.

    3. We live in Prospect Heights and have a lovely, impeccable little rental apartment that we rent out short term. Rates are great, everyone always loves the place, and it’s exceedingly clean and well appointed. We rent it out mostly to former Brooklynites and to parents/family/friends of people who live in the neighborhood. And it is a great neighborhood–Prospect Heights proper. Email me for pics, rates, and availability if you’d like!

    4. Are you only interested in Brooklyn? If you want to spend alot of time in Manhattan, you might also think about the Upper West Side. I would also check VRBO and Craigslist – I know many who have had good results through those sites.

    5. Hi –

Tried posting earlier but it doesn’t seem to have taken. Apologies if this now comes up twice. We are actually looking to rent out our apartment from 4/4/ – 4/20, or as much of that time as possible, and it sounds like it might be what you are looking for. See the listing here:

We are in Crown Heights near the Prospect Heights and Clinton Hill borders. Please feel free to give me a call at 917 224 6943 or email at

    6. In Prospect-Lefferts Garden neighborhood there are 3 reasonably priced B&Bs and there’s a pay parking lot on Flatbush nearby. Two lots in fact. Two of the B&Bs are on Rutland Rd, one called Serenity at Home and the other called Lefferts Manor Bed & Breakfast. And there’s a 3rd one on Lincoln Road called Lincoln Road Bed and Breakfast. All owned and run by nice people in beautiful, historic brownstone houses. The neighborhood is on two express train lines, the B/Q and the 2/5 so you can get anywhere pretty quickly in Manhattan. These B&Bs really are a good option for visitors to the city.

    7. Spencer Place B&B is a really nice brownstone right on Clinton Hill Bed Stuy border. You will be right in the middle of brownstone Brooklyn. Street parking isn’t too bad over there and the owners are really nice.
