This buiding’s sanitation is managed
by a professional well known mgt company in the slopes,
Is that what I should expect as an owner

  1. @NYguy7 – not out the front of my palce it wouldnt have.

if my contractor left it liek that i would bag it myself then call him to tear him a new one.

it’s mazing what people in this “first world city” find acceptable.

  2. Id be interested in providing you with a quotation for Building Maintenance services. We currently have Buildings in Park Slope, Ft. Greene & Bay Ridge, we are located on 7th Street in Park Slope. I can be reached at (917) 573-3304. Al Rosario.

  3. Too many people write into Brownstoner instead of actually talking to the people involved to come up with a solution.

Seriously, problem with the tenants, landlord, managing company? Talk to them in a constructive way — posting here solves nothing. Most people know the answer, they just want to avoid it.

  4. How about shoveling a nice spot and making it look neater. I am sorry double parking is a problem. Park legally and walk a block or two if you have to. This is lazy stuff. Sometimes it takes some extra effort.

Management companies suck. This is not management. I like it better when you can speak to the person who actually touches your garbage. Then you have someone to tip , or not tip.

  5. In the context of trash situation since blizzards, should have read “how hard is it FOR ANY NEIGHBOR OR OWNER (never mind management company) to consolidate all the small stuff into large contractor or lawn and leaf bags, leave bags out for pickup, and bring the cans back to areaway?”

  6. Ditto what Slopefarm said. In addition, how hard is it to consolidate all the small stuff into large contractor or lawn and leaf bags, leave bags out for pickup, and bring the cans back to areaway? A favor to your neighbors and the sanit crew, as well as a way to maintain room in trash cans for resident’s garbage.

  7. You’ve posted on this twice, somewhat obliquely. Why don’t you come out and say what you mean and what you are looking for? Have you hired them and now you are unhappy? Are you considering hiring them and want to know what is accetped practice? Is your coop hiring them and you are opposed and looking for support for your position? Are you just a neighbor angry that tehse guys are leaving trash everywhere?

I think you can’t judge much from outdoor trash situation since the blizzards. Everyone is just coping with the erratic pickups and lack of normal places to put the garbage.

  8. Better to have bagged it up than leave in the plastic can especially during our current erratic pickups . Otherwise tenants have no place to put garbage. Looks like they are just throwing it on the pile.

Why not just call them and tell them you are not happy.

In defense though, sanitation picked up our garbage on an unscheduled day at 1:30 in the morning. I had to jump out of bed to bring out the cans or I would have missed it.
