Our thermostat is wired in to a place in the apt that stays quite warm- we’d like to move it to a colder spot so the heat stays on until the whole apt is heated.

In order to avoid moving all the wiring, would a wireless thermostat do the trick? Any suggestions on how to easily move the thermostat or its sensor?

  1. I am interested in buying a buildings that has great units in it but there is not heating system apart from electric boards in each unit that the tenants don’t use as it does not seem efficient and too costly for them I guess.
What new system do you advise me to install in the
    building.
I am thinking of hot/cold air system but not sure.
How much is it per unit? (these are two beds plus).
How long does it take to build that for a 4 units building?

  2. I doubt it. The fact that it has a remote sensor has nothing to do with the boiler. 99% of thermostats are universally wired

  3. OP here: Yeah, I suppose I could just raise it higher in its current location to compensate, but it somehow seemed easier if I could just know that the cooler area has reached a specific set degree by having the sensor in that area.

I didn’t realize it might not work with a certain type of boiler- is that true?

  4. From what I’ve seen, yes you could do something like that. Basically it’s a two piece system. You take out your old thermostat and install the wireless control box on the current thermostats location. Then you have the actual thermostat that you can place in any other room which will tell the control box what temp you want and read the temp from the room you’ve placed it in.
