Were living in a house with majorly sloped floors in Crown Heights, weve been told the structure is fine but were having a hard time living with it. Does anyone know someone in Brooklyn that specializes in this? Thanks!

  1. This is a frequent topic, I suggest you look up previous threads.

Sloping floors fall in three categories.

    1. The house leans, but you don’t walk on the walls, so you notice the floors.

    2. Floors sag towards middle,(left to right)

    3. Floors sag towards middle, (front to back)

If yours are none of the above, you may have localized structural failures, in that case find out why.

  2. You’ve got to be kidding. Are you renters? Either live with it or move.

Are you owners? You can jack up the foundation, beams, etc., crack the plaster and re do the walls.

Or you can put in new floors over the old.

Either way, it’s thousands of dollars.

  3. Try Carlos Salazar formerly of Carlos Wood Floors, he’s now a partner with Inti Interior Finish. His cell number is 646-281-2659. He’s the only guy I trust with my brownstone floors and floors at my primary residence in NJ. He’s the guy to call. His new website is http://www.intirenovation.com

    Good Luck,
